The installation schedule went well for the first few weeks and the partnership between ourselves and the electrical sub-contractors was working as expected. Unfortunately, towards the end of the third week the electrical sub-contractors had a major problem with personnel, the main installation engineer was taken seriously ill and their install work stopped at very short notice. This problem was unavoidable, we carried on and completed our part of the installation without mains connections at the projectors. The units were setup and tested using extension cables (used during testing only and then removed) with the understanding that the correct mains supply would be fitted at a later date.
When undertaking a task of this size it is inevitable that unforeseen problems will be encountered. It is always our intention to cover every possible situation but invariably problems will occur, though, no problem is insurmountable. In this case we were able to continue our work and in reality the impact to us was minor. Unfortunately this was not the case for the electrical sub-contractors who were still working when term recommenced.
