Roll-out
The roll-out process was completed over a period of one week, as required. No difficulties were encountered as the software had already been tested (with data) and the end users were familiar with it. The hardware installation work was completed successfully and the generic platform being used helped simplify this process. Spare EPOS hardware was allocated to the warehouse store and added to the stock inventory to ensure some level of redundancy in the event of failure.
The install and setup schedule proved to be realistic. Several of the stores were located around central London which was a concern for travel and access but this proved to have little effect on the timings. No failures of either hardware or software were experienced during installation and the system became live as expected.
