Network Cabling Infrastructure Installation
Brief
An installation recently completed by ourselves and of interest was undertaken for one of our legal services customers. We have provided complete network and IT support for this customer for several years and were asked to assist with the customers move into new premises, which happened to be a grade-2 listed building. The status of the building meant that normal cabling routes could not be used and all original walls, skirting-boards, dado rails, picture rails and features etc could not be damaged or moved in any way.
The work would consist of installing network cabling and relocating all existing server, cabinet, workstation and printer hardware etc. The number of points required totalled approximately 250 and the existing hardware totalled 75+ units.
All associated remote connectivity, telephony, routing and switching hardware was to be included in this remit, including liaisons with third parties to re-establish connection to public exchanges, broadband services etc. Our task was to manage all aspects of the network infrastructure move.
