During the initial site survey it was apparent that standard fibre linking could not be used due to the terrain and intended road layout changes that would occur. A more inventive solution would be required using wireless devices.
Other considerations were the mounting locations for the link hardware. One end of which would have to be positioned on a stone grading plant building. One of the most extreme environments any electronics equipment could be housed. Very high vibration levels, large degrees of building movement during operation, outside air temperature variations and very high levels of airborne particles. Not an ideal location for electronics but the only possible line of sight location due to the terrain.
